Carla. In some countries, it can take along time for a divorce.
In Italy, it took 5 years for a legal divorce. You could have a nice Kingdom Hall wedding after 2 years. Sign a paper stateing you aggree to legaly marry when you get your divorce (5 years) . If you changed your mind and didnt marry it was an auto DF. The 'brothers' thought this was a loving provision from Jah.
That changed about 10 years ago, when the waiting period went down to 2 years.
I was very suprised to hear this. Having had a scriptual divorce, getting counceled for talking to someone on the phone, because I had 2 months pending for my final decree. But can you imagine waiting 5 years.
IMO, I dont think they were advocating poligamy.

those who grow up in an atheist household are least likely to maintain their beliefs about religion as adults, according to a study by georgetown university's center for applied research in the apostolate (cara).only about 30 percent of those who grow up in an atheist household remain atheists as adults.
this "retention rate" was the lowest among the 20 separate categories in the study.. there were 1,387 atheists (weighted) in the survey.
When my grandson speaks of his being an atheist . His Mom sugests we gentely tell him he's really an agnostic. It's like voting sweetie, you have to grow up some to make certain choices. I asked what influenced him , parents , news, friends, his JW grandfather, the world, me . He said his parents.
When that Lunatic predicted the end of the world recently, he texted me the next day and LOLed about it. I did too , having grown up during the 75 fiasco.
scarce in my youth had feet touched on earth,.
intent, so i was, to vanquish all that held me.
painfully fast to misery in flesh and a sorrow.
As a child that hid in the library. I learned my refuge was in books and my imagination.
I remember at age 5 looking at the cinder blocks of the old Hall in The City and finding paterns . Later, in another old hall, that still had windows , watching the clouds go by and finding solace. By then I learned to leave and go somewere outside my self amoung the stars.
Maybe its a blessing, maybe its a curse. For now I can 'leave' very easily. The Doc says it's ADD. I say it's a coping mechinism.
sparlock and the simpsonsif rumors are true, and they generally are, then sparlock the warrior wizard is set to make a special guest appearance on an upcoming episode of the simpsons.. .
according to matt groening, the shows creator, sparlock will feature in a simpsons episode to air on thanksgiving day.. it was only natural due to the popularity of sparlock the warrior wizard, groening explained, that he would end up on this show.. .

I love the Simpsons and so do my offspring. Its funny, I watched it when they were tots and we both had a laugh. Now I watch it with my grandbambinos.
Matt also did a comic strip called Life In Hell that I loved too. Life in Hell became a common phrase in my house . Your going to hell did too. Kind of nice when you dont believe in hell. It becomes a comedy. My nick was Burn in hell Mommy.
i was just thinking that out of the 200 jws that i actually know, at least 4 of them to my knowledge are pedophiles.
i know for a fact, through personal confidences.
that means, as far as my circle of jovo friends/acquaintances goes, 2% of them are kiddy fiddlers.. without mentioning names or details, how many do you know of for a certainty to be pedos, and what percentage does it work out at, considering all your circle of jovo friends?.
I know of 5.
3, of who molested one of my own.

Ha ...Same here stll thinking
I'm still counted as a JW and a Catholic.
I am an atheist, and so are the parents of my grandson, who has decided the same.
Polls are very subjective, I am thinking.

a few of you may remember that my wife had a kidney transplant early last year.
since then the kidney has been incredible, giving her a new lease on life.
it's really been good to see the light in her eyes that i had missed for quite a long time.. the counterpoint to this good news is the problems we have had with our son coltin.
Im sorry to hear this. I unite with everyone in sending prayers/postive thoughts for your son.
